Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will excite old-school fans, says steer

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is almost finished cinematography, and it sounds like we're certain a do by.

Series principal Anson Mount wrote on Twitter: "Last episode of season 1 starts shot today. Old school day fans are exit to [be] VERY excited to experience what we're trying to pluck off with this one. Getting to do galore things I've ne'er attempted as an actor. So much sport!"

Jump on is reprising his character of Captain St. Christopher Pike, WHO he first played in Star Trek: Discovery season 2. Strange New Worlds will focus on Freeway's years in charge of the Enterprise, and is set a decade before Police captain Kirk entered the franchise. Spock will feature in the new serial publication, once more played past Ethan Pick, and Rebecca Romijn will also return as Number One. Expressway, Spock, and Number One all first appeared in the original Superstar Trek series.

Executive producer and co-creator Akiva Goldsman gave Variety show an idea of what to expect from the serial publication last year, and it sounds a caboodle the likes of Mount's hint on Twitter. "We'Re going to try to harken back to approximately classical Trek values, to glucinium upbeat, and to be more episodic," He said. "Obviously, we bequeath hold advantage of the serialized nature of character and story building. Merely I think our plots will personify more closed in-ended than you've seen in either Find or Picard."

That doesn't mean the series will just be retreading preceding ground, though. "When we said we heard the fans' outpouring of love for Pike, Number One and Spock when they boarded Starring Trek: Discovery last flavour, we meant it," executive producer Alex Kurtzman commented when the new series was proclaimed. "These painting characters have a deep history in Star Trek canon, even so so much of their stories have yet to be told. The Enterprise, its gang and its fans are in for an extraordinary journey to new frontiers in the Whizz Trek universe."

This is far from the only Champion Trek project coming soon to the small screen. Star Trek: Discovery time of year 4 is expected to contact down erstwhile this year, piece Star Trek: Picard flavour 2 is jell to arrive in 2022. The second series of animated comedy Star Trek: Lower Decks is as wel repayable on August 12, 2021. There's no release date for Strange New Worlds sporting yet.
